Knox Engine Co.
Collector W. F. Blake was head machinist for the Knox Engine Co. in Camden, Maine, which manufactured the first gasoline powered engines for Maine's fishermen and lobstermen. While only one or two small steam-powered factories were located in Davistown itself, nearby communities such as Camden and Rockland were the location of small factories such as the Knox Engine Co. All of the tools in the W. F. Blake collection are signed by W.F. Blake and contained in his machinist tool box on display in the main hall of the Museum on top of display area K.
